July 13th was a
wonderful night on Caledonia Street. The weather was beautiful
and the music was diverse and well received. The event
was well attended. This local tradition offered a variety
of musical styles by accomplished musicians from the area.
None of these acts were imported from outside the San Francisco
Bay Area. Sausalito Art Walk not only offers a platform
for local visual artists, but area musicians also appreciate
a place to entertain people from their own backyards.
This event was diverse and
a spectacle, offering something special for all tastes
and ages.
We had such
a huge artistic presence and a spectacular line up of talented
musicians who appeared in July's event. We
had sounds that suited every musical sensibility.
Here are a few highlights
from July's live music schedule:
|
CZ
and the Bon Vivants> performed for the first
time in July's event. Their tradition Cajun Zydeco
was performed at the foot of Robin Sweeny Park,
giving room for the people who couldn't resist
but get up an dance to this Creole Sensation. They
played unplugged and without a PA, in the creole
tradition. Their infectious sound inclined |
people to get up and dance to this Creole Sensation. It
was a treat to have this band appear and we
are crossing our fingers they will appear again
at Art Walk. They truly added to the diversity
and were a welcomed addition that livened up the
event.

Mike
Saliani and Chris Ebacher> performed Bluegrass
during the event, including acoustic guitar,
steel guitar, and banjo. This was their second
performance in Sausalito Art Walk and I have
a feeling this won't be the last time we see
them at the event. Their music was well received
and added to diverse sound we had going on in
July.

| Timothy's
Ghost warmed up the scene with their Celtic and swing
tunes, as well as some well known favorites. This
5 piece band played in front of Essene at the event.
They added a whole different flavor and contributed
to the whole ambiance of the event. |

Trick Kernan
Combo performed live at Sausalito Art Walk
in July and was warmly received by people in
attendance. This was their first appearance
at the event and we look forward to a repeat
appearance in future events |
The Ambassador of Trouts Adrian Gromley made an
encore performance in July. His "Experimental Jazz"
pushed the envelop. He played several horns, layering
his instruments on loops. He was putting his signature
on jazz standards like John Coltrane, but in a
way you have never heard before.
